  • Saturday 20th November 2010

    Saturday Night: Today was a mixture of clear and sunny periods and then dark cloudy periods with passing fronts, we even had some rain. Most of the day it was cooler but we did reach 16C, the overnight low was 10C. Yesterday was cooler too and windy at about 13C.

    This morning I had to go to the valley to pick Simba up from his "three days in hospital" at the vets. He has been on a drip and his condition has greatly improved. As soon as I arrived, despite and quite a queue, I was taken directly out the back to Simba.

    He was in a large cage and he was curled up in the far corner looking very forlorn. The vet open the door and as soon as Simba saw me he began to wail....... It was heart wrenching, the vet still had to remove his catheter and give him an injection and poor Simba was just wailing his heart out......

    On the way back I had to make a detour to town to get some food, poor Simba cried all the way home and now he is back he is so pleased to be with us! He has wanted to go outside too, so he must feel better, but he is far too weak for that yet, in fact he has spent most of the day asleep. To be honest, if I hadn't just picked him up from the vet, the way he looks right now I would be taking him instead...... he looks sick, but at least he is getting better.

    Strangely Tammy became aggressive toward him and everyone else when he got back, sometimes she's so hard to fathom! Oh and before I go, here's a little financial tip from me tonight.... Invest in the Durex company, the pope has just removed the ban on condoms....
